I'm just about to buy my first keelboat - 21-25ft, set up for single-handed. Any tips / lessons (good and bad) about buying your first boat ?

Steve,
Did you get a chance to look at the Yachting Monthly articles by Nigel Calder entitled 'Chosing the Ideal Boat' It was a two parter the first part in July this year, which I have, and the second presumably in August which I don't. I guess back issues are available from the publishers. By all means contact me re July's Part 1.

yes, try to sail on as many different boats as possible you will soon start to realise what sort of boat appeals, it also depends on the type of sailing and the area that you want to sail in and of course how much money you can spare!
