Saturday morning started with a forecast update which seemed to have been copied from Friday, so naturally we started the day with a long cooked breakfast in the Marina and stared at the wind readings still hitting 45 knots on a regular basis. There was talk of things moderating the afternoon so we started talking to any arriving crews. Apparently Yarmouth was not a good place to be with waves washing over the pontoons. Our crew was quite OK on experience with a Yachtmaster, a Coastal Skipper, A Day Skipper and two competent crew so at about 5 o’clock we headed out for a taster with 3 reefs. No problem at all, as the edge had definitely come off the gusts. We headed back to the Lymington Yacht Haven as it got dark. On Saturday evening we didn’t get very far having discovered the Yacht Haven Restaurant. We had a brilliant dinner but blew the budget right there. Nevermind.
