Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Next It was pleasant enough sailing with Marna IV making 5-6 knots through the water without excessive heeling or boat motion. We made the most of the wind and sailed as long as we could, arriving at the ferry pier at 20:30, a little later than anticipated. The ferry pier has a small wooden-sheathed section suitable for lying alongside at the landward end of the north side. There is room for two yachts and the one which was there when we arrived kindly moved along half a boat length to make room for us. By the time we tidied up and had something to eat there was still time to wander up to The Colonsay hotel, about quarter a mile up the road (signposted to the airport!), in time for one before closing time. This hotel was built in 1750 and was refurbished this year. It certainly looks pleasant and comfortable and worth a visit and although we didn’t sample the food, the locally brewed Colonsay IPA was worth a taste.
