Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Next Good job then that we had Penelope, aka ‘The Pink Lady, aka Laura at the wheel, she did well to keep up with Andrew and a suitable tearoom was found! (Dastardly & Muttley would have been impressed!!) Refreshed, the Thistle crew forged onwards towards Armadale (“Show me the way to Armadale Oh!” – sorry cheap joke) and aided by Fraser (Gadget Boy’s) GPS we successfully arrived 1 hour late. This didn’t go down too well (I blame the pottery shop stop) but the spirits of the ‘Isle of Skye Yachts’ crew on seeing the Pink Lady’s attire seemed to lift momentarily!! Once safely onboard the Thistle, berths chosen, food & ballast (I mean beer) stowed we set off for Rum. Arriving in Rum harbour we dropped anchor, made ready the stove for our first culinary surprise, feasted on nibbles and houmous….. sorry Laura, ‘lemon infused’ houmous we toasted ourselves with G&T’s and looked forward to a weekend of fun!! Third question – how much Gin do you need for a weekend? Answer, more than 1 bottle!! More of that later…….. Once fed – on a delicious ‘Lady in Pink’ concoction of ‘chicken & mozzarella with rice’ we donned our ‘glad-rags’ and dinghy’ed our way ashore. We made our way to the music marquee, picked up our festival like bracelets and were entertained by some excellent bands. I especially enjoyed The Sirens! Before it got too late we decided that it would be a good idea to make our escape and headed towards the jetty to make our way back to the boat for the night.
