Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Next We did however get a hot tip that there was going to be more going on sale, and after much bravado and posturing with the comments of “We’ll just barge our way past the bouncers….” and “I’m sure a word in Big Morag’s shell-like…” There was even mention of starting a ‘Rum Fringe Event’ of our own, we relented and attempted to buy some more tickets online. Fingers poised on our mice we waited patiently for the clock to tick past the witching hour – the time came and went and, “Oh dear……. none for sale” A quick try again the next morning and a few ‘frantic’ phone calls however and we had all we needed – Rum was on! A meeting was called – seemed like an excuse to go to the pub me thinks, but it seemed to set the scene for the weekend! A couple of brave (daft) souls stepped forward (or were they pushed), and a catering plan was hatched. At this point, it might be wise to point out that Dave (That’s Skipper Dave of the Thistle) had wisely chosen some females to crew aboard his craft – in fact he chose all three!! …….I’m guessing he’s done this before! So a trip to Costco was planned by Jan & Laura and the provisions for the trip were bought. One slight oversight however, don’t send girls to buy boys booze! Third question, just how much beer do boys on boats drink? Answer, phone Fraser! The beer was purchased and we were set.
