Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 Next Day 3 - With a lot of miles now under our belt and Dubrovnik within easy reach we were determined to sail. We started by lifting the anchor under sail and tacked out of the entrance, we were however defeated again when the wind fell to 0 kts and motored down past the wonderful city of Korcula. The wind always blows through this narrow passage between the Island of Korcula and the high mountains of the Peljesac and sure enough were had at last a favourable wind which carried us on for a couple of hours. As it dropped positive action needed to be taken and the cruising chute was set and we gybed and sailed our way South. The destination for the night was Nicco’s Konoba in Kobas. He does the finest mussels in the area, has a little jetty to which even we with Fabiola’ draft can back up to and it is entrancingly lovely. An excellent evening which enable Patrick to bring out his guitar and to go “turn and turn” about with a visiting Irish folk guitarist and a semi resident multi lingual guitarist.
