Page: Previous 1 2 3 4 5 6 Next The crew comprised :- Me, Alastair Duncan, I have been sailing Fabiola in the area for about 7 years, Jasper and Mary Steele, who are buying a share in a Bavaria in Croatia and seeing this as a first opportunity to reconnoitre the coast, Vic Watson and Patrick Landry, both enthusiastic sailors “currently between” boats. Apart from Patrick who was joining in a couple of days, we met up for the first time in the departure lounge at Gatwick Airport. A little anxiety on my part was that one picture Vic had emailed was of a transvestite cross dresser out of the Rocky Horror cast. Fortunately he proved to be a little more conventional. I was able to update the crew with the latest from the contractor in Croatia carrying out the work he was confident that although Fabiola would not be in the water when we arrived she would be going in on the following day. In the meantime we had been fixed up with accommodation and would be collected by taxi from the airport and taken to the marina to see the state of the boat.
